A GenoBaitsยฎ Panel of 55K SNPS. This 55K panel is a great tool for genome selection to improve breeding efficiency of disease resistance and select high-quality varieties of Litopenaeus vannamei.
The research team led by Dr. Kong Jie from the Chinese Academy of Fishery Science have sequenced 443 varieties for SNP discovery, which provides a foundation for the GenoBaits 55K shrimp panel design. In this design, a total of 53,128 SNP sites were targeted, including 3,086 functional sites, such as ammonia tolerance, VpAHPND resistance, WSSV resistance, feed conversion efficiency, and harvest weight. This panel has been validated in different mapping populations and can be used for research work such as analysis of genetic structure and genetic diversity. This 55K panel is also a great tool for genome selection to improve breeding efficiency of disease resistance and to select high-quality varieties of Litopenaeus vannamei.
Applications overview:
Discovery - Genetic map construction, genetic diversity analysis, gene/QTL mapping, GWAS analysis, functional gene mapping and cloning.
Breeding - Variety identification, germplasm resource evaluation and protection, molecular marker-assisted selection, genome-wide selective breeding.
High-throughput screening - Detection of dominant trait loci, prediction of hybrid combinations, and detection of disease/stress resistance traits.
