PCR Turbo Grinder
The Turbo Grinder is a high-performance automated tissue grinder and tissue homogeniser designed for reliable, large-scale sample preparation. It is capable of efficiently homogenising plant tissues (roots, stems, leaves), seeds, animal tissues (muscles, fur, bones), bacteria, fungi, and other biological materials.
Using stainless steel, high-density glass, or zirconia beads, it applies intense mechanical shear force to break samples into individual cells or small fragments. The system’s high-frequency vibrating vertical plate drives samples in a two-dimensional motion, causing the grinding media to deliver high-frequency impacts and compression—resulting in rapid and even disruption. Such uniform disruption across hundreds of wells is essential for high-throughput PCR workflows, where reproducibility and consistency directly influence data quality and decision making.

SAMPLE PREPARATION
- Cut samples into small pieces and place into 2.0 mL deep-well plates.
- Add two 4 mm steel or zirconia beads to each well.
- Select processing mode:
- Dry Grinding: For dry plant material such as leaves.
- Wet Grinding: Add lysis buffer or treatment solution.
- Freeze Grinding: Pre-freeze plates in liquid nitrogen before grinding.
